The folklore competition - concert 'Bulgarian folklore' aims to preserve and promote Bulgarian folk dances and to support folk ensembles. To provide an opportunity for expression and development of children's ensembles.
History of the Folklore Competition - Concert
'Bulgarian folklore' aims to show the beauty of Bulgarian folk dance through the eyes of children. It is organized by Rotaract Club Sofia together with Rotaract clubs from the country. The first edition of the competition was in 2003. Since then, ensembles from all over Bulgaria have been participating for seventeen consecutive years: about 360 children up to 14 years of age.
Over the years, special guests of the event have been bands of children deprived of parental care, who are also involved with their musical performances.
The folklore competition-concert is one of the emblematic projects of Rotaract Club Sofia, which has left a lasting mark in Rotary Bulgaria.

A jury, composed of specialists in the field of Bulgarian folk dances, evaluates the participants taking into account: choreographic mastery, duration of the dance, costumes in accordance with the folklore area.
